A cookie is a small file a site places in your browser. This blog uses the bare minimum.
What is actually set
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| WordPress session cookies | Essential | Created only if you log in to the site administration. An ordinary visitor receives none. | Session |
| bello_consent | Essential | Remembers your cookie choice so the banner is not shown again. | 6 months |
| Server logs | Essential | IP address and requested page, kept by the web server for security and diagnostics. These are not cookies. | Short retention |
| ph_… (PostHog) | Analytics | Set only if you accept. Shows which pages are read and counts visitors, without selling your data. | 12 months |
What we do not use
No advertising cookies, no tracking share buttons, no data resale. We use a single analytics tool, PostHog, and only if you accept it.
Your choice
On your first visit a banner asks you to accept or reject. Until you accept, PostHog’s script is not even loaded, so nothing is sent. Your answer is stored in bello_consent for 6 months.
You can delete cookies at any time from your browser settings, or revisit your choice with the “Cookies” link in the footer.
