If you are searching for “Mahaal free”, two things have changed since last time. The product is now called inyad, and the free offer is still genuine but it comes with paid modules whose prices the publisher does not publish. Use those reference points as a ruler. When you get a quote, reduce it to a monthly figure, multiply by sixty, and set the result beside the lines above. A Moroccan till subscription currently sits between 199 and 410 MAD a month depending on modules; if yours falls outside that band in either direction, ask why.

What “free” means at a publisher that sells modules

The model is simple and perfectly legitimate: the base app is free, and extra functions are paid for. A large share of professional software works this way today, and it has a real advantage: you start without spending anything and you only pay for what you need.

The drawback is symmetrical and deserves facing squarely: as long as the list of modules and their prices are not public, you cannot know in advance where you will land. A free till that becomes a 300 MAD a month till the moment you want invoicing and multiple users is not the same decision as a free till that stays free. The only way to find out is to ask, and to ask precisely.

• Ask for the full list of modules and their prices before the demo, not during it.
• Describe your exact configuration and ask for the corresponding monthly total: number of tills, users and outlets.
• Ask whether the price excludes or includes VAT, and whether there are activation or hardware fees.
• Ask what happens if you stop paying: does the app revert to free with fewer functions, or do you lose access?
• Ask for an export of your data in an open format, and get it in writing.

The real dividing line: the cloud and the connection

Beyond price, the structural difference between the two products on this page fits in one sentence. inyad is a cloud platform: your data lives on their servers, which brings syncing across several outlets, automatic backups and remote monitoring. BelloPOS is offline desktop software: your data lives on your machine, and the connection never enters into a sale.

Neither model is superior in the abstract; they answer two different situations. If you run three shops and want to see all their sales from your phone, the cloud is the right answer. If your line drops twice a month and a stopped till costs you a queue and departed customers, offline is. This is not a matter of opinion, it is a matter of circumstance, and you are best placed to settle it.

• Ask for an export of your own data before you pay anything. Products, customers, sales, in a file you can open. If the answer is vague, you already know how this ends.
• Add up five years, not one month. A subscription is compared with a one-off purchase over the time you will actually use it.
• Check that the receipt prints correctly in Arabic before you commit. On a thermal printer that is not a given, and it takes a minute to see.
• Ask who answers the phone on a Saturday at 8pm, and in which language. That is exactly when a till breaks.

5. How long is the commitment, and what happens if I cancel before the end?
6. What does support cost after the first year, and what is included?

Is Mahaal free?

The base software is free, and extra modules are paid for à la carte. The publisher does not publish the amounts for those modules: there is no pricing page on inyad.com in any of the site’s six languages, and every path ends in a demo request (checked 27 July 2026).

Are Mahaal and inyad the same thing?

Yes. mahaal.app now states that Mahaal is part of the inyad site and points to inyad.com. The Android app is still published as “inyad Mahaal: POS & Invoices”, which is why both names are still in circulation.

What happens if the internet goes down?

That is the question to ask in the demo, and to get pinned down: does the sale complete, does it sync afterwards, and for how long will the app keep working without a connection? With BelloPOS the question does not arise, the software being entirely offline by design.
