Is Caisse Manager free? What the free month covers, and the genuinely free alternatives

Let us answer straight away, because it is the question you typed: Caisse Manager has no free plan. What they offer is a free month, after which the till software costs 250 MAD a month. That is a perfectly honest offer, it simply is not the same thing as a free till, and the difference runs into tens of thousands of dirhams over the life of a shop.

Look at the till-only row. At 250 MAD a month, Caisse Manager reaches the price of BelloPOS Go in exactly three years, and then keeps running. After five years the gap is 6,000 MAD, and after ten years it is 21,000 MAD. That is not a sales argument, it is a multiplication, and you can redo it on your phone.

What the free month actually covers

A free month is a good thing and it deserves using seriously. On their pricing page the “1 Mois Gratuit” offer appears on all three blocks: the till software at 250 MAD a month, the waiter mobile app at 60 MAD and advanced stock management at 100 MAD. The subscriptions are monthly with no commitment, which means you can stop, and that counts in their credit: plenty of publishers lock customers in for twelve months.

What a free month does not tell you, though, is how you will feel the thirty-seventh time the payment goes out. That is where the difference between renting and buying lives, and it is precisely why a free trial is such an effective sales tool. Use it, but do the multiplication at the same time.

• Use the month to test what is hard, not what is easy. A demo always succeeds. A Saturday night with three cashiers, less often.
• Pull the internet cable on a quiet day and try to ring up a sale. Thirty seconds will tell you what happens the day the line drops.
• Print a receipt with product names in Arabic and look at the result on the thermal printer, not on the screen.
• Ask for an export of your data before the month ends. Products, customers, sales, in a file you can open. The answer to that question is worth more than any feature list.
• Put the trial end date in your phone, with a reminder three days before.

What “free for life” means, and what it does not

We should be as precise about our own offer as about anyone else’s. BelloPOS Lite is a free lifetime licence: no trial, no card, no expiry, no feature that closes after thirty days. How to choose: the twenty-minute method

Whether you choose them, us or a third party, the method is the same and it takes twenty minutes. It is more useful than any comparison, including this one.

• Test the checkout, not the demo. Ask to ring up ten items, one return and one split payment, yourself, and time it. A well-rehearsed demo tells you nothing about what your cashier will face on a Saturday.

• Ask for an export of your own data before you pay anything. Products, customers, sales, in a file you can open. If the answer is vague, you already know how this ends.
• Add up five years, not one month. A subscription is compared with a one-off purchase over the time you will actually use it.
• Check that the receipt prints correctly in Arabic before you commit. On a thermal printer that is not a given, and it takes a minute to see.
• Ask who answers the phone on a Saturday at 8pm, and in which language. That is exactly when a till breaks.

What each solution does better

Caisse Manager

Its delivery and payment integrations. Automatic syncing of Glovo and Yassir orders into the till, the CMI connection and the Done link are real products solving a real problem: a restaurant doing volume on delivery otherwise spends its evening retyping orders from a tablet. We offer no equivalent, and for a business where delivery is a large share of turnover that is a serious argument in their favour. Their 7-day support and the absence of any commitment also count in their credit.

Mistakes to avoid

• Confusing “free trial” with “free version”. Both start at 0 MAD and end very differently.
• Comparing 250 MAD a month with 9,000 MAD without putting both over the same period. One month against a lifetime licence is not a comparison, it is an optical illusion.
• Leaving the modules out of the sum. The till alone is 250 MAD. With advanced stock and the waiter app it is 410 MAD a month, or 24,600 MAD over five years.
• Not testing an internet outage during the free month, when it is the one time finding out costs nothing.
• Choosing without printing a real receipt in Arabic. Plenty of software displays Arabic correctly on screen and prints it badly.

If you do a lot of delivery, take Caisse Manager. Glovo and Yassir synced into the till are worth well over 250 MAD a month when delivery is a serious share of your sales, and refusing to say so would be dishonest.
