If you are looking up Orika because you saw the name somewhere, let us start with the most useful fact: it is a publisher of checkout systems for large retail, whose customers are called Carrefour, Auchan, Kiabi and, in Morocco, Marjane. It is an excellent solution for a chain. For a business with one to three tills it is the wrong company to call, and this article explains why without taking anything away from their product.

The short answer
- Mind the name clash: orika.fr is the French checkout publisher this article is about. Orika.ma is a Moroccan online ordering platform, entirely unrelated.
- The range is called O4: O4-Store for the point of sale, plus O4-Marketing, O4-Management, O4-Mobility and O4-IT.
- Their customers are chains: Carrefour, Auchan, Monoprix, Géant Casino, Leader Price, Kiabi, Celio, Intersport and Marjane. The solution is deployed in 16 countries.
- No public prices. The way in is a contact form, which is normal for this kind of enterprise sale.
- Two things to credit: an open-source architecture, and compatibility with older hardware that spares a chain from replacing hundreds of tills.
The solutions compared
Two pieces of till software, two markets that never cross. Here is what each one is, in its publisher’s words and then in ours.
Orika
A French publisher of retail checkout solutions whose range is called O4: O4-Store for the point of sale, plus O4-Marketing, O4-Management, O4-Mobility and O4-IT. The architecture is open source and runs on old as well as new hardware, which avoids replacing a whole estate. The solution is deployed in 16 countries and its references are chains: Carrefour, Auchan, Monoprix, Géant Casino, Leader Price, Kiabi, Celio, Intersport, and Marjane in Morocco.
BelloPOS
Our Windows till software, built in Morocco. It runs 100% offline: no sale depends on the connection. The interface and the receipts exist in French, Arabic and English. Three tiers: Lite free for life, Go and Pro bought once, never subscribed to.
The comparison, criterion by criterion
This table is not a contest: it is there to place you. If your answers fall in the left column, Orika is what you need, and we will say so plainly.
| The criterion | Orika (O4-Store) | BelloPOS |
|---|---|---|
| The typical customer | A retail chain: Carrefour, Auchan, Monoprix, Kiabi, Marjane. | An independent business, one to three tills. |
| Range | O4-Store, O4-Marketing, O4-Management, O4-Mobility, O4-IT. | BelloPOS Lite, Go and Pro. One product, three tiers. |
| Price | Not published. Contact form. | Public: Lite free for life, Go 9,000 MAD, Pro 40,000 MAD, once. |
| Getting started | A deployment project, with configuration and support. | One installer. You are selling the same evening. |
| Multi-store centralisation | Yes, it is the heart of the offer: consolidated results in real time, rights management, estate supervision. | Networked terminals on one site with Pro. Running a national estate is not our ground. |
| Loyalty and marketing | O4-Marketing: campaigns, personalised offers, electronic wallets. | Customer balances and history. Much simpler, deliberately. |
| Omnichannel | O4-Mobility: drive, click and collect, home delivery. | BelloCommerce for the online shop, from 190 MAD/month. |
| Hardware | Compatible with old and new hardware, which avoids replacing a whole estate. | Standard market hardware, bought from the reseller of your choice. |
| Architecture | Open source, data centralised and backed up in real time. | Desktop software, 100% offline, data on your machine. |
| What you need on your side | An IT department, or at minimum a dedicated technical contact. | Nobody. That is the product’s starting point. |
What it really costs over five years
Since Orika does not publish prices, this table cannot contain theirs and we will not invent them. What it gives you is the Moroccan market’s reference points for an independent business, next to our public prices.
| The solution | Over 1 year | Over 3 years | Over 5 years |
|---|---|---|---|
| BelloPOS Lite (free for life) | 0 MAD | 0 MAD | 0 MAD |
| BelloPOS Go (9,000 MAD, once) | 9,000 MAD | 9,000 MAD | 9,000 MAD |
| BelloPOS Pro (40,000 MAD, once) | 40,000 MAD | 40,000 MAD | 40,000 MAD |
| Moroccan reference: Caisse Manager (250 MAD/month) | 3,000 MAD | 9,000 MAD | 15,000 MAD |
| Moroccan reference: lacaisse.ma (199 MAD/month excl. VAT) | 2,866 MAD | 8,597 MAD | 14,328 MAD |
The amounts above are worked out from the public prices recorded on 27 July 2026, with VAT added where a price is quoted excluding tax, and with no commercial discount. For prices in dollars, the rate used: 1 USD = 9.4 MAD, recorded 27 July 2026. Redo the sum with the day’s prices before you decide: they move, and it is your money.
If you are a chain, these amounts have nothing to do with your situation and you should request a quote from Orika. If you are an independent business, this table is precisely your market, and it explains why a platform designed for Carrefour will never be offered to you at this price.
What the O4 range does, module by module
Their offer is structured in five blocks, according to their own solutions page. The vocabulary is that of organised retail, and it tells you who the intended customer is.
- O4-Store: The point of sale itself, presented as the heart of the offer: till software, a mobile self-scan app and cash flow management. Self-scan is a clear marker: it is a hypermarket function, not a grocery one.
- O4-Management: Centralised management: consulting consolidated store results in real time, generating reports, managing user rights. This is what you buy when you have thirty stores, not when you have one.
- O4-Marketing: Commercial campaigns, per-customer personalised offers and several electronic wallets for loyalty. A loyalty programme at that level assumes a customer volume a neighbourhood shop does not reach.
- O4-Mobility: Drive, click and collect and home delivery, to buy “anytime, anywhere”. It is the range’s omnichannel block.
- O4-IT: Technical administration: monitoring and supervision of the estate, software update management. This block exists only because their customers have an estate to supervise.

Why this is not a question of quality
The difference between Orika and us is not one of quality, it is one of customer size. Orika equips chains: their public references are Carrefour, Auchan, Monoprix, Géant Casino, Leader Price, Kiabi, Celio, Intersport and Marjane. Those are estates of hundreds of tills, with centralisation, rights management, a loyalty programme and an IT department on the other side. BelloPOS equips the shop on the corner: one to three tills, an owner who is also the cashier, and nobody to administer a server. Both products are good in their category and they never meet in the same tender.
Two things deserve frank credit here, because they are rare. The first is the open-source architecture, which they explicitly present as openness towards their customers: for a chain committing an estate for ten years, not being locked into one publisher has considerable value. The second is compatibility with older hardware. Changing till software without changing the three hundred tills that go with it is the difference between a fundable project and an abandoned one. Few publishers lead with that, and it does them credit.
Our proposition sits at the other end of the spectrum and we own it: one installer, no database to administer, a published price, offline operation and support that answers in Darija. They are two different trades, and pretending one replaces the other would waste your time.
Do not confuse the two Orikas
First, let us clear up a confusion that catches a lot of people: two entirely unrelated companies are called Orika. The one this article is about is Orika (orika.fr), a French publisher of checkout solutions for retail, whose range is called O4. The other is Orika.ma, a Moroccan commission-free online ordering platform for cafes and restaurants: that one is not a till, it does not replace taking payment at a counter, and if it is the one you were looking for, its link is in our sources.
How to choose: the twenty-minute method
The method below is written for an independent business. If you run a chain, your process is a tender and this article is not the right tool: contact Orika directly.
- Count your real needs before you look at a single price. How many tills, how many users, do you invoice businesses, do you need stock, do you take delivery orders. Five answers, and half the offers rule themselves out. Our guide to choosing a till works through this questionnaire.
- Test the checkout, not the demo. Ask to ring up ten items, one return and one split payment, yourself, and time it. A well-rehearsed demo tells you nothing about what your cashier will face on a Saturday.
- Pull the internet cable and try to sell. That one test splits the whole market in two, and it takes thirty seconds. We go through it in detail in our offline or cloud POS comparison.
- Ask for an export of your own data before you pay anything. Products, customers, sales, in a file you can open. If the answer is vague, you already know how this ends.
- Add up five years, not one month. A subscription is compared with a one-off purchase over the time you will actually use it.
- Check that the receipt prints correctly in Arabic before you commit. On a thermal printer that is not a given, and it takes a minute to see.
- Ask who answers the phone on a Saturday at 8pm, and in which language. That is exactly when a till breaks.
Questions to ask any vendor who does not publish prices
- What is the total monthly cost for my exact configuration: my number of tills, my number of users, my modules?
- What happens to my data the day I stop paying? Can I export it, in what format, and for how long does it stay accessible?
- Are there activation, installation, training or hardware fees, and are they one-off or recurring?
- Is the quoted price excluding or including VAT?
- How long is the commitment, and what happens if I cancel before the end?
- What does support cost after the first year, and what is included?
What each solution does better
Orika
Scale, and respect for the hardware already in place. Orika equips chains the size of Carrefour, Auchan and Marjane, which implies centralisation, rights management, estate monitoring and a loyalty programme we do not claim to match. Two points deserve particular credit: their open-source architecture, which protects the customer from lock-in, and their compatibility with older hardware, which spares a chain from replacing hundreds of tills in order to change software. For a retail group, that is exactly the right answer.
Mistakes to avoid
- Confusing orika.fr with orika.ma. One publishes checkout systems for chains, the other is a Moroccan online ordering platform. Nothing in common.
- Requesting a quote from an enterprise publisher for two tills. You will wait, and the figure will not be at your scale.
- Buying a loyalty platform when you have two hundred regular customers. A customer balances ledger does the job.
- Choosing software that forces you to replace all your hardware. That is precisely the trap Orika spares its customers, and the same vigilance applies at our scale.
- Neglecting offline operation because the demo ran on a good connection.
Frequently asked questions
What is Orika?
Orika (orika.fr) is a French publisher of checkout solutions for retail. Its range is called O4: O4-Store for the point of sale, plus O4-Marketing, O4-Management, O4-Mobility and O4-IT. Their solution is advertised as deployed in 16 countries and their public references are chains such as Carrefour, Auchan and Marjane (recorded on orika.fr on 27 July 2026).
Is Orika present in Morocco?
Their references page names Marjane, a Moroccan chain, among their customers. The solution is also advertised as deployed in sixteen countries. To know exactly what is offered in Morocco you have to contact them: they do not break their coverage down country by country.
What does Orika cost?
They do not publish prices: the way in is a contact form. That is common in enterprise sales, where the price depends on the number of stores, the number of tills and the modules chosen. We will not quote an estimate.
Is Orika suitable for a small business?
Frankly, no, and that is not a criticism: their offer is designed for store estates, with centralisation, estate supervision and a loyalty programme. A business with one to three tills will use almost none of that power and will not get a quote at its scale.
Is this the same Orika as the Moroccan platform?
No. Orika.ma is a Moroccan commission-free online ordering platform for cafes and restaurants, unrelated to the French publisher. Both links are in our sources to avoid the confusion, which is common.
What should an independent business in Morocco choose?
A till sized for you: BelloPOS Lite is free for life and works offline, BelloPOS Go at 9,000 MAD covers an established business, and Moroccan subscriptions run from 199 to 410 MAD a month depending on modules. Our general comparison reviews all nine solutions on the market.
Our recommendation
If you are a chain, Orika deserves a place in your tender. Their references speak for themselves, their open-source architecture protects you from lock-in, and their compatibility with existing hardware can save the budget of a replacement project. Contact them directly.
If you have one to three tills, look elsewhere, and not because their product is bad. A platform designed to supervise a national estate is not sold, configured or priced at the scale of a neighbourhood shop.
And if you arrived here looking for Orika.ma, the Moroccan online ordering platform, that is an entirely different solution and an entirely different job: it takes orders online, it does not take payment at a counter. The link is in our sources.
