This is the hub page of our comparison: nine till solutions used in Morocco, measured against the same criteria, with public prices recorded on 27 July 2026 and the real cost worked out over five years. Every row in the table leads to a detailed analysis. And where a publisher does not publish something, it says so rather than guessing.

The short answer
- Three solutions are genuinely free: BelloPOS Lite, Aronium Lite and uniCenta oPOS. All three work offline, and only one is built for Morocco.
- Neither Shopify nor Square processes cards in Morocco. That is the most important fact in this whole comparison for a local buyer.
- Moroccan subscriptions run from 199 to 410 MAD a month depending on modules, which is 14,000 to 36,000 MAD over five years.
- inyad, the market’s biggest player, publishes no prices. We explain how to get a comparable quote in six questions.
- The one test that really separates them: pull the internet cable and try to sell. It takes thirty seconds and splits the whole market in two.
The solutions compared
The nine solutions covered, in their publishers’ words and then in ours. Each has its own separate analysis, linked from the table that follows.
BelloPOS
Our Windows till software, built in Morocco. It runs 100% offline: no sale depends on the connection. The interface and the receipts exist in French, Arabic and English. Three tiers: Lite free for life, Go and Pro bought once, never subscribed to.
Caisse Manager
A Moroccan till software sold as a monthly subscription with no commitment, in three blocks: the till, the mobile app for waiters and advanced stock management. Its site claims more than 3,000 shops equipped and highlights its CMI, Odoo, Brehm, Glovo, Done and Yassir integrations.
lacaisse.ma
A Moroccan till solution, sometimes searched for as “Ma Caisse” and served from macaisse.ma. The software is sold on a monthly subscription, with modules billed separately on top. The publisher also offers its own payment product, lacaissePay, and claims more than 2,200 customers.
inyad (anciennement Mahaal)
The biggest player in the Moroccan market, and the one that publishes the most. The product was called Mahaal; mahaal.app now redirects to inyad, while the Android app is still listed as “inyad Mahaal: POS & Invoices”. The publisher claims 250,000 professionals in more than ten countries, over 210,000 Google Play reviews at a 4.5 rating, and sells its own hardware range.
uniCenta oPOS
A Java desktop till published under the GNU GPL v3 free licence. Multi-location, multi-terminal, multi-user, 17 languages, backed by a MySQL or MariaDB database. Version 5.4.0 added a WooCommerce integration. The project is distributed on SourceForge, where its last update is dated 10 August 2025.
Aronium
A native Windows till in two editions: Aronium Lite, free and with no registration, and Aronium Pro, which connects several registers to one database. Everything else is added through plugins, free or paid, billed per store.
Shopify POS
Shopify’s till, in two tiers: POS Lite, included with any Shopify subscription, and POS Pro, an add-on billed per retail location. Its reason to exist is to make online stock and in-store stock one single stock.
Square Point of Sale
Square’s till (Block, Inc.), very widespread in North America and a few European countries. The base software is free because the company earns from processing card payments. Its pricing page now shows a single ladder: Basic, Plus, Premium and Square Pro on request.
Orika
A French publisher of retail checkout solutions whose range is called O4: O4-Store for the point of sale, plus O4-Marketing, O4-Management, O4-Mobility and O4-IT. The architecture is open source and runs on old as well as new hardware, which avoids replacing a whole estate. The solution is deployed in 16 countries and its references are chains: Carrefour, Auchan, Monoprix, Géant Casino, Leader Price, Kiabi, Celio, Intersport, and Marjane in Morocco.

What it really costs over five years
The cost table, computed from public prices rather than estimated. It is the only angle from which a subscription and a one-off purchase compare honestly.
| The solution | Over 1 year | Over 3 years | Over 5 years |
|---|---|---|---|
| BelloPOS Lite (free for life) | 0 MAD | 0 MAD | 0 MAD |
| BelloPOS Go (9,000 MAD, once) | 9,000 MAD | 9,000 MAD | 9,000 MAD |
| BelloPOS Pro (40,000 MAD, once) | 40,000 MAD | 40,000 MAD | 40,000 MAD |
| Aronium Pro ($100/year per store) | 940 MAD | 2,820 MAD | 4,700 MAD |
| lacaisse.ma, base offer (199 MAD/month excl. VAT) | 2,866 MAD | 8,597 MAD | 14,328 MAD |
| Caisse Manager, till only (250 MAD/month) | 3,000 MAD | 9,000 MAD | 15,000 MAD |
| Caisse Manager, till + stock + mobile (410 MAD/month) | 4,920 MAD | 14,760 MAD | 24,600 MAD |
| lacaisse.ma, full configuration (498 MAD/month excl. VAT) | 7,171 MAD | 21,514 MAD | 35,856 MAD |
| Shopify Basic + POS Pro ($39 + $89/month) | 14,438 MAD | 43,315 MAD | 72,192 MAD |
The amounts above are worked out from the public prices recorded on 27 July 2026, with VAT added where a price is quoted excluding tax, and with no commercial discount. For prices in dollars, the rate used: 1 USD = 9.4 MAD, recorded 27 July 2026. Redo the sum with the day’s prices before you decide: they move, and it is your money.
Three thresholds to take from this table. Caisse Manager, till only, reaches the price of BelloPOS Go in exactly three years. A full Moroccan configuration passes 9,000 MAD before the end of year two. And Shopify with POS Pro passes 72,000 MAD over five years for a single location. Aronium Pro remains, by a distance, the cheapest paid tier on the market, and that deserves acknowledging.
The three questions that eliminate half the field
Nine solutions is too many to choose from calmly. Three questions cut the list to two or three candidates in a few minutes, and they are asked in this order.
- Is your internet connection reliable? If it drops more than once a month, rule out everything cloud-based and keep BelloPOS, Aronium or uniCenta. That is not a preference, it is risk management: a till stopped on a Saturday afternoon costs more than a missing feature.
- Do you have to invoice businesses in Morocco? If so, the international options drop out: neither Shopify, nor Square, nor Aronium, nor uniCenta has a Moroccan module. Aronium publishes them for Saudi Arabia and Vanuatu, which shows they build them when a market justifies it.
- How long do you expect to keep this business? Under three years, the subscription nearly always wins: it ties up no capital and you can leave. Beyond five years, the one-off purchase nearly always wins. That is arithmetic, not ideology.

What is particular about the Moroccan market
Four local realities explain why an international comparison is of little use to you here, and why this one exists.
Card payments. The big free platforms are free because they earn on card processing, and that activity depends on country-by-country approvals. Shopify Payments lists 46 countries and regions without Morocco, Square covers eight. In Morocco, cards go through your bank’s terminal, which changes the business model of this whole category.
The connection. An hour-long outage on a Saturday afternoon does not cost the same depending on whether your till carries on or stops. It is the market’s most underrated criterion, and the easiest to test.
Arabic in print. Nearly all software displays Arabic correctly on screen. Far fewer print it correctly on a cheap thermal printer. Check it on paper before choosing, not after.
E-invoicing. It is the most active subject in the market right now, and none of the four international solutions on this page has a Moroccan module. If your deadline is approaching, that point weighs more than price.
Our position, stated plainly
This comparison is published by the maker of BelloPOS, and you are entitled to read it knowing that. We set ourselves three rules: every fact about a competitor comes from its own public page and carries the date it was checked; every competitor gets a paragraph on what it does better than us, written seriously; and when the answer is not us, the article says so. Aronium Pro is cheaper than us over five years, Shopify unifies stock better, inyad has a hardware range we do not have, and Caisse Manager wins on delivery. Those four sentences are in the relevant articles, not only here.
How to choose: the twenty-minute method
The method below applies to any of the nine solutions, and it is worth more than this table. The table gives you a shortlist; the method gives you the answer.
- Count your real needs before you look at a single price. How many tills, how many users, do you invoice businesses, do you need stock, do you take delivery orders. Five answers, and half the offers rule themselves out. Our guide to choosing a till works through this questionnaire.
- Test the checkout, not the demo. Ask to ring up ten items, one return and one split payment, yourself, and time it. A well-rehearsed demo tells you nothing about what your cashier will face on a Saturday.
- Pull the internet cable and try to sell. That one test splits the whole market in two, and it takes thirty seconds. We go through it in detail in our offline or cloud POS comparison.
- Ask for an export of your own data before you pay anything. Products, customers, sales, in a file you can open. If the answer is vague, you already know how this ends.
- Add up five years, not one month. A subscription is compared with a one-off purchase over the time you will actually use it.
- Check that the receipt prints correctly in Arabic before you commit. On a thermal printer that is not a given, and it takes a minute to see.
- Ask who answers the phone on a Saturday at 8pm, and in which language. That is exactly when a till breaks.
Questions to ask any vendor who does not publish prices
- What is the total monthly cost for my exact configuration: my number of tills, my number of users, my modules?
- What happens to my data the day I stop paying? Can I export it, in what format, and for how long does it stay accessible?
- Are there activation, installation, training or hardware fees, and are they one-off or recurring?
- Is the quoted price excluding or including VAT?
- How long is the commitment, and what happens if I cancel before the end?
- What does support cost after the first year, and what is included?
What each solution does better
Every competitor on this page does at least one thing better than us, and naming those things is the only way to make the rest credible. Here they are, without reservation and without polite hedging.
Caisse Manager
Its delivery and payment integrations. Automatic syncing of Glovo and Yassir orders into the till, the CMI connection and the Done link are real products solving a real problem: a restaurant doing volume on delivery otherwise spends its evening retyping orders from a tablet. We offer no equivalent, and for a business where delivery is a large share of turnover that is a serious argument in their favour. Their 7-day support and the absence of any commitment also count in their credit.
lacaisse.ma
Its functional breadth and what it gives away. The channel manager, the back office and lacaissePay make a coherent whole, and above all the kitchen display, the queue screen, the QR menu and the customer-review QR are advertised as free on their features page: elsewhere the kitchen display is often the most expensive line on the quote. For a restaurant that wants those four things immediately, that is a real point in their favour.
inyad (anciennement Mahaal)
Breadth and hardware. inyad covers the till, invoicing, the credit ledger, payroll, time clocking and payments, and sells a full range: Duo Pro 16 and Solo Pro 16 terminals, kitchen display, ordering kiosks, thermal printer, barcode reader, facial-recognition time clock. Buying software and hardware in one place, from one contact, has real value. Their content and Arabic-language support effort is also the most serious in the market, and we say so without reservation.
uniCenta oPOS
Its licence. uniCenta oPOS is free software under the GNU GPL v3: you can install it on as many machines and in as many shops as you like, with no licence fee, and nobody can withdraw your right to use it. The database is yours, readable, on your own server. If independence from a software publisher matters to you more than anything else, this is the right answer and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Its multi-location support and its fifty reports are serious work, and rare at this price.
Aronium
Its plugin model, and its value for money. Aronium Lite is free, complete and asks for no registration: you download it and you sell. Aronium Pro at 100 dollars a year per store is honestly cheap for what it does, and the free plugins (stock control, expiry dates, named orders, takeaway, notes, dual currency) cover needs that others charge for. The publisher keeps a detailed changelog, which is a good sign about a piece of software’s health.
Shopify POS
Single stock between the online shop and the store. That is a real advantage and it deserves saying plainly: if you already sell on Shopify, a sale at the counter decrements the website’s stock within the second, and the reverse too. Catalogue, customers, orders and reports sit in one place. No assembly of two tools does that as cleanly as a product designed as one, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Square Point of Sale
The payment experience and the hardware, where the service exists. Square probably has the most polished card checkout on the market: a reader that pairs itself, a payment in two seconds, a receipt sent by text, readable fees and no contract. The software is free and genuinely complete. It is an excellent product, and its business model is precisely the reason it does not cover Morocco.
Orika
Scale, and respect for the hardware already in place. Orika equips chains the size of Carrefour, Auchan and Marjane, which implies centralisation, rights management, estate monitoring and a loyalty programme we do not claim to match. Two points deserve particular credit: their open-source architecture, which protects the customer from lock-in, and their compatibility with older hardware, which spares a chain from replacing hundreds of tills in order to change software. For a retail group, that is exactly the right answer.
Mistakes to avoid
- Comparing a subscription and a purchase over one month. The right horizon is how long you expect to keep the shop.
- Confusing a free trial with a free version. Both start at 0 MAD and end very differently.
- Comparing a VAT-exclusive price with a VAT-inclusive one. Twenty per cent apart, and it is the Moroccan market’s most common mistake.
- Buying branded hardware before checking country coverage. Card readers depend on a payment service.
- Choosing without printing a receipt in Arabic on the printer that will actually be installed.
- Not asking for an export of your data before paying. It is the one moment when you have negotiating power.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best POS software in Morocco in 2026?
There is no single one, and be wary of comparisons that name one. For a counter business with an unreliable connection, an offline till such as BelloPOS. For a restaurant doing volume on delivery, Caisse Manager and its Glovo and Yassir integrations. For a broad platform with matching hardware, inyad. For the lowest cost with no Moroccan invoicing, Aronium Pro.
Which POS software is genuinely free?
Three are, with no trial and no card: BelloPOS Lite (free for life, offline, trilingual, 3 users), Aronium Lite ($0, no registration, Windows) and uniCenta oPOS (free software under GNU GPL v3, but with real setup work to do).
What does POS software cost in Morocco?
Moroccan subscriptions run from 199 MAD excluding VAT to 410 MAD a month depending on modules, or 14,000 to 36,000 MAD over five years. One-off purchases are 9,000 MAD for BelloPOS Go and 40,000 MAD for Pro. An international till such as Shopify with POS Pro passes 72,000 MAD over five years (prices recorded 27 July 2026).
Do Shopify POS and Square work in Morocco?
The software installs, but neither processes card payments in Morocco: Shopify Payments lists 46 countries and regions without Morocco, and Square limits card acceptance to eight countries. You can use them as a catalogue and stock tracker, with a separate bank terminal.
Should you choose an offline or a cloud till?
It depends on your connection and your number of outlets. Cloud wins if you run several stores remotely. Offline wins if an outage costs you a queue. The test takes thirty seconds: pull the cable and try to ring up a sale.
Which solutions handle Moroccan e-invoicing?
Among the international solutions on this page, none. Aronium publishes fiscal modules for Saudi Arabia and Vanuatu, but not for Morocco, and uniCenta has none. BelloPOS offers invoice export on its Go and Pro tiers. For the Moroccan publishers, ask them directly; most do not advertise it publicly.
Our recommendation
Start with the thirty-second test, not with a table. Pull the internet cable from your current till on a quiet day and try to sell. The answer will let you eliminate half this page in a minute.
Then add up five years. All the figures are in the cost table above, computed from public prices rather than estimated. Subscriptions win under three years, one-off purchases beyond five. Place yourself on that scale and two candidates will remain.
Finally, test them yourself. Three of the nine solutions are free and install the same evening on the same machine. An hour of real testing with your own catalogue beats every comparison, including this one, and it is the best advice we can give you.
